So, you heard about all the facts and benefits of CBD, and now you’re curious. Figuring out the right CBD dosage for you is a crucial aspect of its therapeutic effects. What works for some may not necessarily work for you. Microdosing CBD is an excellent start for novice beginners and it can also be appreciated by those with more experience. It is a great way to introduce CBD to your body or you can try this method to break up your dosage throughout the day.
Microdosing became popular in the 60s, not with hemp or marijuana, but with psychedelics. By taking such a low dosage, people found it suppressed the hallucinogen qualities of the drug. This allowed researchers to use psychedelics in a more therapeutic way as opposed to recreational use. Fast forward to more modern times and the spike of cannabis has made health-conscious people want to replicate the same process with CBD oil.
Essentially, the concept is to start with a low dosage and slowly increase the size of your dose until you reach your “optimum dosage.” With this method, you will incorporate your correct dose of CBD into your daily ritual and experience all its therapeutic properties without fearing any disturbances in your life. Also, it will allow your body to gradually adjust to the CBD which will help avoid any negative reaction. Using small doses of CBD throughout the day might assist your sense of alertness or focus while taking a stronger dosage might have a more sedative effect.
Microdosing is perfect for users who want to promote their Endocannabinoid System (ECS). This system plays a large part in keeping us healthy. Some researchers theorize that a lack of endocannabinoids can lead to many problems, some more severe than others.
Microdosing retains small doses of full spectrum CBD in your body throughout the day to promote your ECS. Full spectrum CBD oil contains all of the beneficial cannabinoids and terpenes found in hemp. Your ECS has receptors spread out throughout your body. Endocannabinoids are involved in mood, appetite, sleep, stress, metabolism, pain, immune functions, and much more. By microdosing, it might help maintain the same amounts of cannabinoids throughout the day, which may help promote overall homeostasis.

If you do your research your will find many suggestions as to what size dose you should take. We recommend between .25mg and .5mg of CBD per pound of bodyweight, but this is up to the consumer. You can take more or less than our suggested amounts and microdosing can help you figure out your desired amount. The reason for dosage inconsistencies is because there is no “official” standardized dosage guidelines in place yet.
Besides body weight, there are other variables to consider when figuring out your right CBD dose. For example, you must also consider the type of product, the purpose of using CBD, and the concentration of the product you are using. All of these factors can make your personal dosage difficult to figure out, which is why we recommend microdosing!
CBD microdosing can be effective and, in some cases, it might be a more effective way to gain the benefits of CBD at the lowest possible dosage. By microdosing CBD, you can diminish the chances of any side effects. Although CBD does not have any severe side effects reported, it’s best not to take chances, especially when introducing something new to your body. If you feel you need a strong dose of CBD, it might take some time to gain the effects you desire with microdosing. If you keep building up your dose size, eventually, you will hit your sweet spot that lasts for an extended period.
There are two reasons why you would want to microdose; to find your optimal dosage or to break up your dosage to experience consistent effects all throughout the day.
Finding your optimal dosage does not have to be hard. There are many different complicated formulas that you can use, but we like to recommend a simple tactic. With microdosing, we advise you to begin with a low dosage product. For example, you can start with our 300mg or 600mg bottle of CBD oil. If you’re just starting to take CBD you might want to start with a smaller than regular dose. This will get your body acquainted with CBD and it will allow you to work up your dose size.
As we stated earlier a regular dose is .25mg CBD per pound of body mass. Therefore, a low dose would be between .15mg and .2mg per pound. If you want to keep your dose on the lower side you can start with .15mg per pound. You may want to keep track and write down the dosage size and the results to compare later. Now, next time you take a dose increase your dosage size to by .05mg (which equals .2mg per pound). Basically you will increase by increments of .05mg of CBD each dose until you get the results you desire. That’s how you microdose to find your optimum dose!
If you intend to take a strong dose but are new to CBD oil we recommend starting with a regular dose of .25mg of CBD and then increasing your dose size by .1mg per pound each time until you feel the effects you desire. If you are vaping CBD or smoking CBD flower, we suggest you inhale one puff and wait for 5 to 15 minutes. Repeat until you achieve the desired control. Inhaling CBD provides instant effects but if you are a novice it may be easier to dose with CBD oil, choosing low dosage CBD capsules, or consuming low mg CBD edibles at the beginning.
After you have found your optimal dosage, you can then break it apart throughout your day. Rather than building up your dosage, you would stay consistent with a small dosage that would add up to your optimal dosage at the end of the day. By breaking down your CBD dose, you will lengthen the benefits of CBD.
One common method is to break up your optimum dose and divide it by 2. For example, if your optimum dose is 60mg of CBD oil every 8 hours than to microdose this amount divide it by 2 which will give you 30mg of CBD oil every 4 hours. This way you get a low dose more often which allows the effects to extend longer and remain more consistent in between doses.
Microdosing CBD is a great way to intake small amounts of CBD. This will help you off on the right start with your CBD experience. With the full range of CBD products and dosage amounts, it can take some trial and error to find the product that fits your needs. That’s why microdosing is the better choice for new users, at least until you find the right amount for you. Check out this link.
